Eyeglass Shop in Tampa
Multifocal eyeglass lenses are required when you have more then one vision issue to correct. Nearsightedness and farsightedness each are addressed separately with single vision (monofocal) lenses. But here at Optical Outlets, we treat them both on their own, together, and with or without astigmatism. We do that at our Tampa eyeglass shop with bifocal, trifocal, and progressive lens options.
Bifocal eyeglass lenses may be easily identified by the line that runs horizontally across the lens. The top half is for distance vision, while the lower half is designed to improve your vision up close, such as for reading. And if you have astigmatism, which can lead to blurred vision at all distances, trifocals will be prescribed. Instead of just one line, there are two on them. And for the longest time, those were what everyone would get in order to achieve better vision. However, progressive lenses represent a step up in both how they look and what they do. And while not everyone will feel these lenses are right for them, it is undeniable that the elimination of the lines on the lenses is often seen as a benefit. No one but you will know that you are wearing bifocal/trifocal lenses. But the most exciting thing about them is that they offer true multifocal vision. Bifocal and trifocal lenses have blind spots in the intermediate range. Not so with progressives. You will see sharply and clearly at all distances: far away, up close, and between. But no matter which selection you make, the most important aspect is that you won’t need to squint or struggle to see the way you want to.
Make an appointment at our Tampa eyeglass shop so that our optometrist can give you a comprehensive eye exam and determine what your vision needs are. And if bifocal or trifocal lenses are right for you, the pros and cons of which product will suit you ideally can then be determined.
